The IT Audit profession started out as a technical “appendage” to the internal audit department; and IT Auditors are now considered an integral part of the team. Does integral mean integrated? Is our role all technical? What does the Chief Audit Executive want and expect from the IT audit function? Are we fulfilling these needs? Based on 35+ years of experience in IT Audit, the presenter will share his observations of the various constituencies and their needs and expectations.
The agenda will include:
- IT Audit’s role in Internal Audit planning and execution
- IT Audit’s organizational role
- Risk-based versus cyclical auditing
- Are our “hands-on days” over?
- What are the essential skills IT auditors need to develop
